Frequently Asked Questions

We have pulled some of the most frequently asked questions from our customers and compiled them all into one place. Should you have any other questions that we may have missed, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Do I Need To Attend An Intro Class If I Want To Do Classes?

Yes - most people have never experienced Pilates on a Reformer and your safety is our priority.

But I’ve Attended Lots Of Pilates Mat Classes

The fundamental Pilates principles are the same but using a Reformer feels very different from working on a mat. Many people are surprised by how much harder it is. Attendance of the Intro Class allows you to seamlessly transition into a regular class without disrupting other participants.

I have been working with Louise for just over  year. My core strength and flexibility have really improved and the backache is gone. Lou is a great teacher who has the patience of a saint, is fun to work with and is always so encouraging.

What to Expect in the Intro Class

It’s best to arrive 5-10 minutes early as this will give you time to complete a health form and inform the teacher of any health concerns. You’ll need socks, your own water bottle and long hair must be tied back. Please do not wear clothing with zips or studs as these can damage the Reformer beds. The class will begin with a brief introduction on how to safely set up and adjust the Reformer for your personal requirement. The workout is a full-body routine incorporating fundamental Pilates concepts and how they apply to Reformer work. During this time you’ll be shown how to adjust the intensity of each exercise via spring tension so that you’re always working at your correct personal level. Finally, time will be allowed at the end for any questions or feedback.

What if I have some health issues?

You’ll need to contact the studio in advance to check whether it’s suitable for you to attend a Reformer class.

What should I wear?

Anything comfortable is fine but clothing that is more form-fitting allows the teacher to see the body clearly and make corrections when necessary. Shoes are not required but socks are a must, and if you have long hair you’ll need to tie it back. Clothing must not have sharp decorations (zips/studs etc.) as these can damage the Reformer beds.

Do I need to sign a contract?

No, classes can be purchased individually or as a package of 5 - it’s entirely up to you.

If I Buy A Package Do I Need To Commit To 5 Consecutive Weeks?

No, you can choose to attend when it’s convenient for you.

Can I just drop in for class?

We have a 24-hour cancellation policy and a late cancellation incurs either the deduction of a class from a package or must be paid for in full.

We have a limited number of Reformer beds which are often filled with regular participants, so to avoid disappointment each class must be booked in advance.
